What is my motivation to lose weight and get up and move?
First of all I want to be able to move easily. A couple of years ago we moved out of our house. My cousin came and helped me clean up our old house, and as we were cleaning the kitchen, she got down in a squatting position to clean the stove. Then she easily got down on her knees to clean under the lower kitchen cupboards. She sat in a squatting position to clean under the kitchen sink. ME? I bent from the waist with a little knee bend and that was as good as it was going to get. YIKES! Yes. YIKES! I want to be able to squat and do things. Wouldn't it be wonderful to sit in a squatting position to take photos of my grandchildren? Yes it would!
I want to be healthy.
I want to run and play with my grandchildren. Sometimes I get winded when I do laundry. Isn't that scary!! When I'm out with the grandkids I end up taking a lot of breaks while they are playing ball, or throwing a frisbee around the yard. I want to get out and really play.
I want to shop for cute clothes for me. I understand I'm in my 50s and I'm not going to be shopping in the junior department. But I want to buy pretty dresses that don't look matronly. Matronly is not my style! I might be be a fashionista!
I want to carry a big fashionable purse because I like it, not because it fits my size.
I want to wear cute shoes. Okay, I could wear cute shoes now... maybe. But really? NO.
When I fly across country I don't want to ask for a seat extender. I don't want the guy next to me to be thinking oh no... I have to sit by the fat lady.
